Meet The Equator Resort Staff

Born and raised in the U.S. Virgin Islands (St. Thomas) and moved to Key West, Florida in 2004. He has been working in the tourism and hospitality industry all his life. working with the Equator since 2016 he is locally known for various indiscretions on Grindr and his regular appearances in Facebook Jail. First falling in love with the Equator Resort when he visited the resort with a guest, he has been working with the property since 2016 and took over Management in 2017.

Jay started with us on the Front Desk and conned her way into Anthony’s office. Jay has worked many venues around Key West and is familiar with all the hot spots if your looking for the best place to go. His hobbies are pampering his dog, updating his dogs Instagram page, posting pictures of his dog and talking about his dog. And though he is not a tea drinker, he has been known to spill some on occasion.

Tandin brings in 15+ years of International Hospitality working in Bhutan, Bahamas, Thailand, and Maldives as a spa specialist with a smile on his face. Most of the time he likes Shoes and Shenanigans.

Roger actually worked with us a few years ago and is now by from hiatus. He is fondly known as Duck Sauce Man after an Amazon binge where he bought an entire box of Chinese Duck Sauce packets. They have become is signature calling card. If you happen upon a bar seat or retail counter that has a packet of duck sauce on it…Roger was there.

Charlie is the newest to join our dysfunctional family of misfits. He is a true Key West Ambassador, at least that’s what his Scruff profile says. Just kidding, but seriously…you have a question about Key West, Charlie probably has an answer. We haven’t quite figured out what makes him tick yet, but when we do we will turn it into a phobia.

First thing first… Kelby is the most pleasant and friendly person every…HOWEVER girl got a bad case of natural resting bitch face. She can’t help it but he must be doing something right because (and this is not a joke) he is the only person we know that people will randomly approach and comment on his beautiful knees. Like when you where gloves a lot you have soft pretty hands…maybe he uses knee pads regularly…for protection of course.

We have started calling Al Schitt’z Creek because he reminds us of David Rose. He plays the lesbian at a hardware store most of the time but we get him here 3 days a week and we find that to be…sufficient LOL. Al is a great guy and a bit quiet until you start on a topic that he has an opinion on and then you can’t shut him up. Hailing from Nicaragua he has also been know as Tres Leches on Grindr.

Erik was born and raised in Key West so if you need recommendations on where to go and who to see he is the one to go to, because he has been there and done them all…I mean knows them all. Just kidding, thus far a sweet guy, but so is everyone when they are new, we will give him a few weeks before we start judging him. What we can say is based off his social media he likes crop tops, speedos and fashion. All of which fit him very well. (Staff: Wink Wink HR: Slap!) The only negative thing we can say about him so far is that he once went facial hair blond and we will leave it at that.

Rocco has been there from the beginning. No one knows if he was actually ever hired and on payroll or just some guy that shows up on Sundays. We are all also under the same assumption that he was born with a beard and a cigar in his hand. Rocco is the manifestation of the phrase “I smoke cigars and know things” because He is always informed of what’s going on around him and his favorite phrase is “you didn’t ask me, but I’m gonna tell you anyway”.
